Fickenhütten
Fickenhütten was one of seven hut settlements and at the same time the southernmost of the former Weidenau municipality in what is now the northern Siegen urban area in the Siegen district . The name comes from the iron hammer mill " Fickynhutte ", which has been documented since 1417 .
As of December 1, 1885, Fickenhütten had 1,783 inhabitants and was the largest Weidenau district. In 1888, the “Highest Ordinance” of the German Emperor Wilhelm II stipulated “that the districts of Haardt , Fickenhütten, Schneppenkauten , Münkershütten , Müßnershütten , Meinhardt and Weidenau, which make up the community of Weidenau in the Siegen district , are no longer used henceforth uniformly use the name 'Weidenau' ” . Belonging to Hüttental from 1966 , it now belongs to Siegen as part of Weidenau.
The place has always been evangelical, but between 1711 and 1743 it was predominantly Catholic.
