Haardt (Siegen)
Haardt was one of seven hut settlements in Weidenau and later part of this municipality in the northern Siegen urban area in the Siegen district .
Haardter Hütte was built in 1417 , it existed until 1929 and was shut down due to the global economic crisis. Between 1711 and 1743 there was a Protestant and a Catholic parish. The Protestant Haardter Church , which still exists today, was built in 1883 . On December 1, 1885, Haardt had 922 inhabitants. In 1888, the “Highest Ordinance” of the German Emperor Wilhelm II stipulated “that the districts of Haardt, Fickenhütten , Schneppenkauten , Münkershütten , Müßnershütten , Meinhardt and Weidenau, which make up the community of Weidenau, in the Siegen district , no longer use the previous names for the individual districts henceforth uniformly use the name 'Weidenau' ” .
Iron ore mines in the village were, in addition to the important Neue Haardt mine, the Nordstern , Haardt and Junge Haardt mines .
