Müßnershütten

Müßnershütten (also Müsnershütten or Müsenershütten ) was one of seven hut settlements in Weidenau and later part of this community in the northern Siegen urban area in the Siegen district .

In 1444 a hut and a hammer in Müßnershütten were first mentioned. In 1518 a Hans Spiess was hereditary from the Count of Nassau with half a hammer at Müsenershütten.

Müßnershütten is predominantly evangelical, but catholic between 1711 and 1743. On December 1, 1885, Müßnershütten had 493 inhabitants. In 1888, the “Highest Ordinance” of the German Emperor Wilhelm II stipulated “that the districts of Haardt , Fickenhütten , Schneppenkauten , Münkershütten , Müßnershütten, Meinhardt and Weidenau, which make up the community of Weidenau in the Siegen district , are no longer used henceforth uniformly use the name 'Weidenau' ” .
