Fiddler's Island is an island in the River Thames near Oxford in England . The island is located south of Port Meadow in the river section above the Osney Lock .

The north side of the island lies between the Thames and the upper end of Castle Mill Stream , an oxbow arm of the Thames. Fiddler's Island Stream flows on the east side of the southern end of the island. In the south of the island is a short section that connects to Castle Mill Stream as the Sheepwash Channel, the Oxford Canal .

The Thames Path runs the entire length of the island. There are numerous boat docks on the Castle Mill Stream side. The rainbow-shaped Medley Footbridge crosses the main arm of the river to the west on the north side and a shallow iron Bailey bridge crosses Castle Mill Stream further south, connecting with Port Meadow to the east. A narrow footbridge leads the Thames Path along the bank to Osney Bridge . The north end of Fiddler's Island is very narrow. The south end with the bridge is much wider.

To the east of the island is Cripley Meadow, an area mostly made up of allotment gardens .

Bathing on Fiddler's Island was allowed by the Oxford parish in 1852 as probably the first place in the parish.
