Fiddlin 'Joe Martin
Fiddlin 'Joe Martin (born January 8, 1900 in Edwards , Mississippi , † November 2, 1975 in Walls , Mississippi) was an American blues musician .
As a child, Martin learned to play the guitar, then the trombone; later the mandolin and the double bass were added (hence the nickname). He has accompanied numerous Delta Blues singers such as Charley Patton , Willie "Hambone" Newbern , Johnnie Temple , Memphis Minnie , Willie Brown and Son House . He also recorded records with Willie Brown and Son House. After his hands were damaged in a fire in 1940, he switched to washboard or drums . He was the drummer for Howlin 'Wolf ; then he worked with Woodrow Adams and was involved in all of his recordings.
