The Roman Catholic branch church Felixdorf is located in the market town of Felixdorf in Lower Austria . The branch church of the Immaculate Conception of Mary belongs to the parish of the Good Shepherd in Steinfeld in the dean's office in Wiener Neustadt in the Archdiocese of Vienna . history

The Felixdorf parish was founded in 1939. The parish church was built from 1958 to 1960 according to the plans of the architect Kurt Bartak .

On January 1, 2017, the parish Theresienfeld was expanded to include the parishes of Felixdorf and Sollenau and renamed to Zum guten Hirten im Steinfeld. The parish church in Sollenau was designated as the parish church . The Felixdorf parish was abolished. The former parish church of Felixdorf has since been a branch church of the parish of the good shepherd in Steinfeld and is the church of the sub-community Immaculate Conception.

architecture

The church is a concrete building with the character of a tent and has a mighty gable roof over a trapezoidal floor plan. The facade shows smooth fronts. The main facade is dominated by a massive gable wall with a concrete glass window wall and a mosaic. The bell tower that is presented to the side has an asymmetrical silhouette.

The interior of the church with a large hall closes with a wood-clad gable roof. With rows of round pillars, narrow side aisle-like areas were created. The gallery stands on round columns.

Furnishing

The equipment is from the construction period. The high altar was based on a design by Kurt Bartak. The altar cross, the Way of the Cross and the portal mosaic were created by the painter Florian Jakowitsch . The stained glass windows and the statues of Maria Immaculate and St. Josef was created by the sculptor Gottfried Fuetsch .
