Branch church Neuhaus am Zellerrain
The Neuhaus am Zellerrain branch church is located in the middle of Neuhaus am Zellerrain in the market town of Gaming in the Scheibbs district in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic branch church , consecrated on the feast of the Finding of the Cross , belongs to the Scheibbs deanery in the diocese of St. Pölten . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).
history
The parish was separated from Gaming in 1779 . Today it is a branch church of the Lockenhof-Neuhaus parish .
The previous building was built to the northwest at the Karthäusergutshof. The current church was built between 1854 and 1856 according to the plans of the architect Josef Hieser. 1980 was a restoration.
architecture
The neo-Gothic hall church with a retracted choir has a west tower.
The outside of the church shows a tufa block construction with artificial stone elements under a copper-covered gable roof with buttresses placed on all sides. The western front shows a stepped gable and a pair of lancet windows, the tower protrudes slightly in the central axis, the tower has corner buttresses, a mighty four-lane tracery window, above it twin sound windows, it wears a pointed helmet. In the tower there is a pointed arch portal with a steamed door leaf. The long sides of the church show three-lane tracery windows and on the edge axes quadruple windows in round walls over pointed arched window pairs. The eastern front shows a lower polygonal apse.
Furnishing
The neo-Gothic furnishings are largely from the construction period. The high altar, altar table with tabernacle, above the crucifix was created by the sculptor Josef Gasser . In the entrance there is a wrought iron door with a basket arch, which comes from the previous chapel (around 1740/50).
The organ was built by Simon Hötzl in 1856. Johann Caspar Hofbauer named a bell in 1782.
