The Roman Catholic branch church Wagram an der Donau is located in the village of Wagram an der Donau in the Eckartsau municipality in the Gänserndorf district in Lower Austria . It is consecrated to the Holy Trinity and belongs to the parish Orth an der Donau in the Marchfeld deanery in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

Location description

The church stands at the eastern exit of the village of Wagram. The church is surrounded by a cemetery.

history

The small late baroque village church was built in the second half of the 18th century.

architecture

Church exterior

The nave of the small village church has pilaster strips . The church windows in the nave are segmented arched. The choir is set apart and narrower than the nave. The squat church tower is in front and has a pointed helmet. The sacristy annex adjoins the church to the north .

Church interior

The three-bay nave is vaulted . In between are belt arches that rest on flat wall templates. The triumphal arch is narrow. The choir is vaulted with groin and flat wall templates. The sacristy to the north is also vaulted with a groin. The organ gallery was built at the end of the 18th century. The stained glass on the windows is from the beginning of the 20th century.

Furnishing

The altarpiece shows the crucifixion of Jesus and dates from the second half of the 19th century.
