Filip Mess

Filip Mess (* 1976 ) is a German sports scientist and university lecturer .

Life

Mess graduated from the University of Konstanz in 2003 with a degree in sports science, mathematics and educational science . His doctoral thesis , supervised by Alexander Woll and accepted at the University of Konstanz in 2007 , was entitled “Sport as a medium for the organizational socialization of new employees?” In 2008, his doctoral thesis was awarded the Karl Hofmann Publication Prize for dissertations . From 2012 to 2014 Mess worked as a substitute professor for the social sciences of sport at the University of Konstanz. In 2014 he completed his habilitation at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and was then appointed to a professorship for sports science and its didactics at the Department of Sport and Exercise at the Institute for Health Sciences at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education . Mess left the university at the end of September 2015 for Munich, where he took up a professorship in sports and health didactics at the Technical University .

In his sports science activity, Mess is particularly concerned with exercise opportunities at school and in the company, with aging in sport, the way hockey coaches work and the relationship between media use and physical activity among young people. Together with Alexander Woll and Herbert Haag , he published the “Handbook Evaluation in Sport” in 2010 and, in the same year, again with Haag, the third revised edition of the work “Introduction to the Study of Sport Science: Professional Field, Study Subject and Science Orientation”.
