Filippo Salviati
Filippo Salviati (born January 29, 1583 in Florence , † March 22, 1614 in Barcelona ) was a Florentine scientist and friend of Galileo Galilei .
Salviati came from the Florentine noble family Salviati and was a member of the Accademia della Crusca since 1610 . In 1612 he became a member of the Accademia dei Lincei through Galileo's influence .
In Galileo's famous dialogue between Salviati and Simplicio, Salviati embodies the person of Galileo.
