Film Prize of the City of Munich
The City of Munich Film Prize has been awarded since 1992 (every two years until 1998, then every three years). It is endowed with 10,000 euros and serves as an award for a life's work in the field of film.
Award criteria
Only filmmakers who have a close relationship with Munich (place of residence in the S-Bahn area, origin, area of work) are eligible for the film award . The prize is awarded by the Culture Department of the City of Munich . A commission appointed by the Munich city council ( specialist jurors , city council members of the culture committee, previous award winners) has the right to make suggestions; self-applications are not possible.
