Fimbul Canyon
Coordinates: 69 ° 29 ′ S , 1 ° 4 ′ E
The Fimbul Canyon is a deep ditch in the Lazarev Sea in front of the Princess Martha Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Lands . It lies off the northern edge of the Fimbul Ice Shelf .
It has been named since 1997 at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute based on the naming of the neighboring ice shelf.
