The Fimbulheimen is a mountainous region in East Antarctica . It is one of the two large areas that make up Queen Maud Land , along with the Maudheimvidda . The area extends from Jutulstraumen in the west to Borchgrevinkisen in the east.
The name goes back to Norwegian scientists and literally means big home .
