Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is an offshoot series of Final Fantasy and now forms its own franchise with several published video games , several published music CDs and a manga series.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is a video game for Nintendo GameCube . It was released in Japan in 2003 and was the first Final Fantasy game for a Nintendo console since Final Fantasy VI from 1994.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is mainly designed for the multiplayer mode and requires that a Game Boy Advance is connected to each of the characters in this mode . A normal GameCube pad can also be used for single player mode. The gameplay is not turn-based like most other Final Fantasy games, but has more parallels to other series such as Seiken Densetsu . Toshiyuki Itahana was responsible for the character design. a. contributed to Final Fantasy IX .

criticism

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles received mostly positive reviews. The average score on GameRankings.com is 80%. The biggest negative point of criticism is the requirement to have to connect one Game Boy Advance per player to the GameCube in multiplayer mode, since normal pads cannot be used.

In the of Square Enix published in Japan Manga -Magazine Monthly Shonen Gangan a manga published with the title Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Hatenaki Sora no Muko ni ( Jap. : ファイナルファンタジー·クリスタルクロニクル~はてなき空の向こうに~ dt. : Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: It doesn't end on the opposite side of the sky ).

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King was released in Germany in May 2008 via the WiiWare function of the Nintendo Wii console. It was one of the new service's release titles.

It is a construction simulation in which you play a little king who is rebuilding the city that his father once ran.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord was introduced by Square Enix in March 2009 and was released in Japan in June 2009. My Life as a Darklord is the official sequel to the building simulation mix My Life as a King and, like this title, appeared for Nintendo's WiiWare. In the game you slip into the role of Mira, the daughter of the Darklord. The task is to set up the cleverest possible traps in your own tower to keep the heroes from climbing the tower.

Famitsu gave the Wii version 29 out of 40 points and the Nintendo DS version 30 out of 40. The DS version sold 101,718 times in Japan and the Wii version 21,721 times. In the following week, another 33,985 copies of the DS version were sold.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers is another game in the Crystal Chronicles series for Nintendo Wii . In March 2009, Square Enix announced that The Crystal Bearers would also appear in North America and Europe. The game is much darker and more mature than the other representatives of this series. In addition, the game puts the emphasis on the single player mode, whereas usually the multiplayer part is clearly in the foreground in the series.
