Final Fantasy III (OT: Jap. ファイナルファンタジーIII , Fainaru Fantajī Suri ) is the third part of the Final Fantasy - video game series . In the original version on the NES , it was released exclusively in Japan on April 27, 1990. It is not to be confused with the North American FF III , which corresponds to Final Fantasy VI .
action
As in the previous games, the storyline revolves around four children who are called by the light crystals as warriors of light to save the world.
Game principle and technology
For the first time, the job system is used here, which is taken up again in FF V : The main characters can take up classic role-playing professions (e.g. magician, hunter, paladin) and thus develop different skills. Many elements that have become cult in the series have their origin in FF III .
Production notes
It is the last part that appeared on the Nintendo Family Computer . The game world is now shown in 3D graphics, the story has been expanded, new main characters and an FMV opening sequence have been added.
A remake of Final Fantasy III was developed for the Nintendo DS , which was released on August 24, 2006 in Japan. On the first day, 309,000 units were sold. The remake was released in the USA on November 14, 2006, and the German version distributed by Koch Media was released in Germany on May 4, 2007 . It is now also available as an app for the iPhone and for Android and Windows Phone smartphones.
On July 31, 2012, Square Enix announced that the game would be available as the launch title for the Ouya game console .
