The film's number 30 from the Unforgettable soundtrack , written by Irving Gordon and made famous by Nat King Cole in the 1950s, was sung by the Australian singer-songwriter Sia , as was Robbie Williams ' soundtrack for Finding Nemo with the song Beyond the Sea originally sung by Bobby Darin . Sia was chosen by Ellen DeGeneres , who dubbed the character Dory in the film. The singer said: "When Ellen asked me, I couldn't refuse." On May 20, 2016, Sia presented the song on her show Ellen . During this performance, Sia bathed in dark blue light that is reminiscent of the deep sea. The director of the film, Andrew Stanton , later commented on the new interpretation of the song: “In the same way that Robbie Williams gave a classic song its unique imprint for Finding Nemo, Sia has the soulful truth of Nat-King-Cole -Klassikers 'unforgettable' captured and turned it into something of their own. Mihnea Manduteanu thinks that the film music will not only satisfy Thomas Newman's fans , but also charm the moviegoers. The song Gnarly Chop has a very nice rock guitar motif at the end , the song Joker at Work is, apart from the title track, his favorite because it creates an atmosphere at the beginning, but ends bubbly, and Shells , the longest piece on the soundtrack , have the time to develop and tell a complete story with its fresh, Celtic motif.

Jenn Ficarra from Bustle mentions the song Unforgettable in her review and says that it required a singer whose voice can take the audience on an emotional journey, and that the song fits the film perfectly because it is timeless.

At the Hollywood Music In Media Awards 2016, Newman was nominated for his work in the category Best Score in an Animated Film. In December 2016, the soundtrack was included in the list of candidates (longlist) at the Academy Awards 2017 in the category Best Film Music , from which the members of the Academy will determine the official nominations.
