Wilhelm Fink Publishing House

The Wilhelm Fink Verlag was founded in 1962 by the publisher of the same name in Munich founded and was initially largely dedicated to literary and philosophical literature. In particular, the Romance studies of Konstanz provenance, from which the series Poetics and Hermeneutics emerged as the “flagship” of the publishing house , and Slavic studies formed the main focus.

Wilhelm Fink Verlag has been part of UTB , which was founded in 1970, since 1971 and through this came into contact with Ferdinand Schöningh , who later took over the entire publishing house. As a result of the takeover, the company's headquarters moved from Munich to Paderborn .

Under the publisher Ferdinand Schöningh, the program priorities were realigned: the focus was on image and media studies, cultural history and philosophy. In June 2010 the publisher founded the Konstanz University Press (KUP) together with the University of Konstanz . On January 1, 2017, Fink, Schöningh and KUP were taken over by the Dutch science publisher Brill . In spring 2018 Konstanz University Press will switch to Wallstein Verlag in Göttingen .
