Finn Borchsenius

Finn Borchsenius (born August 12, 1959 in Aarhus ) is a Danish botanist, he was best known for his work on neotropical palms . Its official botanical author 's abbreviation is “ Borchs. ".

Life

Borchsenius studied biology in Aarhus. He graduated with a Master of Science degree in 1988. In December 1991 he was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Systematic Botany. From August 1992 to June 1994 he was director of the herbarium of the Pontifícia Universidad Católica del Ecuador in Quito , Ecuador .

He mainly works on the palm trees (Arecaceae) and the Aralia plants (Araliaceae). So far he has published over 30 original contributions and has been able to describe several new species for the first time .
