The Finnish Presidency is under the motto

"Sustainable Europe, sustainable future."

- engl. : "Sustainable Europe, Sustainable Future" : French : "Europe durable - Avenir durable"

.

The logo, derived from the logo of the Finnish Presidency from 2006, is intended to embody effective functionality and consistent sustainability. Immateriality and diverse digitality are at the center of the visual identity, rooted in recycling and renewal. The shape of the symbol goes back to the structure of the symbol of the last Finnish Presidency. The topics are growth, cohesion and transparency.

It is not shown as a whole, but in the form of various cuts. Depending on the purpose, the symbol should also be used as an animation.

The color scheme is based on the two blue tones of the logo, the background blue as well as black and white and the other colors of the symbol. For the icons and graphic elements, the light and dark blue tones of the logo as well as black and white are primarily used.

The graphic designer Timo Kuoppala , who was also responsible in 2006, is behind the visual identity .
