The Croatian Presidency referred to the presidency of Croatia in the Council of Ministers of the EU for the first half of 2020. Croatia is part of the ninth trio with Romania and Finland . It is the first Council Presidency of the country that joined the EU in 2013 , following that of Finland . During the Croatian Presidency, the preparations for the next multiannual financial framework of the European Union for the years 2021 to 2027 as well as Brexit will be a priority on the agenda.
Priorities of the Croatian EU Council Presidency
The main priorities of the Croatian Council Presidency will be:
- a Europe that is developing
- a Europe that unites
- a Europe that protects
- a Europe that is influential.
In addition to the main priorities of its Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Croatia intends to address the following issues:
- an ambitious, balanced and sustainable EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027,
- the implementation of the European pillar of social rights,
- the containment of negative demographic trends,
- Connectivity: Trans-European Transport Network and the Connecting Europe Facility,
- Security, Union Strategic Guidelines for the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice,
- Enlargement policy and the "EU Western Balkans" summit,
- Green Europe - " Green Deal ",
- New labor markets, the importance of knowledge, education and innovation, as well as lifelong learning,
- bringing the Union closer to its citizens, especially young people,
- Democracy, fundamental values of the Union, combating the spread of false reports, intolerance and disinformation on digital platforms.

The logo with a white background of the Croatian Council Presidency consists of numbers and letters which, in combination with two units, are alternately blue and red. In the combination of the letters EU (blue) as well as 20 (red) / 20 (blue) and HR (red) on the left side of the logo - as before with other EU Council presidencies - this particular connection between Croatia and the European Union in 2020. With the lettering in Croatian (in red) or English (in blue): Hrvatsko predsjedanje Vijećem Europske unije or Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union , specifically to the Council Presidency, but without the year. The colors chosen also correspond to the main colors in the Croatian flag .
Sponsorship
The Croatian EU Council Presidency was sponsored exclusively by Croatian companies. These companies support the presidency with money (between 100,000 and 150,000 Croatian kuna ) or directly with goods. Vehicles were provided by Citroën and Peugeot .
