Fiodoras Algirdaitis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fiodoras Algirdaitis or Theodor von Ratne ( Lithuanian Fiodoras Algirdaitis , Polish Fiodor Olgierdowicz , Russian Фёдор Ольгердович ; *?, † after February 10, 1394) was a son of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Algirdas . He was Prince of Rylsk (from 1370), Ratne (from 1377/87) and Bryansk (1393).

Life

When he was born and from which mother is not known. In a list he was named after his brother Andrej in 1394 , and in a letter in 1377 he was named the eldest son.

In 1377, after the death of his father, he probably submitted to the Hungarian-Polish King Ludwig I and not to his brother Jogaila , the Grand Duke of Lithuania. In 1386 he was referred to as Fiodoras von Ratne , so he ruled over an independent area around Ratne. After the founding of the Union of Krewo in 1385, he submitted to Jogaila on October 23, 1386.

In 1387 his son was mentioned for the first time as a novel by Kobrin , it is not clear whether he got the territory from his father or from the Grand Duke.

Fiodoras was mentioned for the last time on February 10, 1394 . In 1399 he was no longer mentioned as a participant in the Battle of the Vorskla , but his brothers Andrej and Dmitri were .

Perhaps he was the eldest son of the second wife, Ulyana of Tver ? Like his other (younger) brothers, he has no Lithuanian first name, only Jogailo . As the eldest son, he should have become Grand Duke. @1@ 2Template: Webachiv / IABot / starbel.narod.ru
