The Fireman Glacier is a glacier in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the western part of the Quartermain Mountains it flows in a north-westerly direction to the Cassidy Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1992 after the US physicist Edward Leonard Fireman (1922-1990) from the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory , who from 1979 was involved in studies of the age and composition of Antarctic meteorites and ice cores at the Byrd station .
