The railway company was founded in April 2005 and took over its routes from CSX Transportation . The routes were originally built and operated by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad . The north-south route was later closed on the section between Seals and Kingsland by the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad in favor of the existing further west, previously operated by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad via Callahan and Folkston .
