The First Direct Arena is a multi-purpose arena in the English city ​​of Leeds , United Kingdom . The hall is a modern amphitheater and offers 13,781 seats for visitors, 4,321 of which are standing.

history

Due to the high demand to present a large arena for entertaining arts in Leeds, the foundation stone for the hall was laid in February 2011 . By 2013 the hall designed by Populous was built. The building cost the owner, Leeds City Council, around £ 60 million to build . On September 4, 2013, the arena opened as the Leeds Arena. The hall is used for concerts , family shows , stand-up comedy shows , sporting events and private parties . Nationally and internationally known artists and bands such as Elton John , Bruce Springsteen , Fleetwood Mac , Eric Clapton and comedy such as Miranda Hart , Lee Evans and Harry Enfield performed in the hall. Sports events such as wrestling or darts took place in the hall.
