The fish ponds are small, artificial still waters in Darmstadt , Hesse.
geography
The fish ponds are located in the Darmstadt East Forest, between Darmstadt, Traisa and Roßdorf . The pond system is a total of approx. 350 m long and approx. 100 m wide.
History and description
The fish ponds were created between 1956 and 1959 - with the participation of American pioneer units - by the Darmstadt Anglers' Association in self-help. The “Fischerhütte” excursion restaurant was built on the eastern edge of the pond. The fish ponds are located in the forest “Der Pfarrwinkelleck”. The pond system is fed by the Darmbach . The fish ponds are also drained by the Darmbach.
In 1988 the wooden "fisherman's hut" was destroyed by two arson attacks. The reconstruction was carried out in solid construction . The reopening took place in May 1990.
Varia
The Darmstadt Anglers' Association was founded on September 18, 1918. Fishing areas were the Old Rhine and the Rhine . In 1931 the Prince of Hesse pit was added as its own fishing waters. After the Second World War , the rebuilding of the fishing club began.
