Fixogum is a clear and viscous assembly adhesive produced by Marabuwerke based on natural rubber and organic solvents . It is mainly used in the graphic industry for the clean gluing of paper , cardboard , cardboard , foils and similar materials.

Fixogum differs from other paper adhesives in that the adhesive bond remains "floating" for a certain period of time, even sensitive materials do not warp, emerging adhesive can be rubbed off residue-free after a short drying time with a finger or an eraser and the parts remain detachable, as long as the adhesive was applied on one side. Since Fixogum (especially when exposed to daylight) is not resistant to aging, compounds only last a few months or years.

Until the 1990s, Fixogum was part of the daily work material for graphic artists and retouchers . In the meantime, the introduction of computers has made paper assembly largely redundant.

Fixogum does not correspond to the deceptively similar adhesives offered by many manufacturers under "rubber cement" in the Anglo-American region. In contrast to these, the solvent in Fixogum contains a high proportion of acetone. This prohibits the use of Fixogum on z. B. expanded polystyrene and painted work surfaces.
