Flemish Ardennes
The Flemish Ardennes is a hilly region in the southern part of the Belgian province of East Flanders around the towns of Oudenaarde , Ronse , Geraardsbergen and Zottegem . They form a geographical unit with the Walloon Pays de Collines , but not with the Ardennes in the east of Wallonia. The rolling landscape of the Flemish Ardennes was formed in the late Miocene . The highest point in the Flemish Ardennes is the 157 m high Pottelberg, on the border of the Pays de Collines . Other well-known elevations are the Kluisberg (141 m), the Muziekberg (133 m), the Oudenberg (110 m) with the Wall of Geraardsbergen and the Koppenberg (78 m). The Flemish Ardennes are home to numerous recreational and nature reserves . Thanks to the many cycle paths and the classic tour of Flanders , the Flemish Ardennes are a popular destination for cycling tourists.
