The Flötzinger Brewery is a private brewery in Rosenheim in Upper Bavaria . The only private brewery in town is now owned by the Steegmüller family. At the Rosenheim Autumn Festival , the brewery operates the large Flötzinger festival tent on the Loretowiese with space for around 8,500 people. It is considered to be the largest freely erect marquee in Europe. The annual output is 100,000 hectoliters. Some of the brewery's products have received national and international awards.

history

The history of the brewery begins in 1543, when Wilhelm IV granted the “Bräu in der Wiesengasse” a brewery permit. Johann Huber is mentioned in a document as the first owner from October 16, 1604 to March 10, 1611. From March 11, 1611, Erhard Westermayer is the owner of the property. Until 1705, the owner of the brewery is documented as Simon Wältl. Wältl's widow, who ran the brewery from 1705, went bankrupt in 1710. The bankruptcy estate is bought from the namesake of the brewery Georg Fletzinger from Ramerberg . After several changes of ownership, the brewery was acquired in 1864 by Johann Krichbaumer, the grandfather of Franz Steegmüller II. Since the death of Franz Steegmüller II in 2012, the brewery has been run by the Steegmüller family.
