Vodka Energy
Wodka Energy (also Flügerl, Vodka-E, Ferrari or Gummibärli) is a long drink made from vodka and an energy drink , which is classically served in a highball or long drink glass with or without ice cubes .
Designations
Due to the frequent use of the Red Bull brand energy drink , the drink is also called Vodka Red-Bull , Vodka Bull or Flügerl (because of the advertising slogan Red Bull gives you wings ). The name "Gummibärli" refers to the taste of many energy drinks reminiscent of gummy bears , "Ferrari" to the Ferrari car brand and the stimulating effect associated with the high caffeine content of energy drinks.
There are now variations such as the Schwarze Flügerl or the so-called Black Bull with black-colored vodka. In Austria the black mixture is best known under the name Schwarzer Reiter . The mixture with red colored vodka is called Red-Red .
Ready-made mixes are also available at retail outlets.

A scientific study from 2016 was able to show that the combination of alcohol with caffeinated energy drinks permanently changes the performance of the reward system in the brain. In animal experiments, physical and neurochemical effects were observed that also occurred after the ingestion of cocaine , which, however, do not occur when consuming alcohol alone or only energy drinks.
