Bottle (unit)

The bottle , also known as Flask in Scandinavia , was a measure of volume for liquids. In the Cape , the measure corresponded to the stoop . In the Netherlands (= here still referred to as Holland) it was an older measure and was called Flesch.

• Nassau: 1 bottle = 1 liter
• Prussia for wine : 1 bottle = 0.8588 liters (= 6/7 l)
• Denmark : 1 Flask = 3 levels = 0.7246 liters (= 8/11 l)
• Holland brandy : 1 bottle = 0.88 liters (= 8/9 l)
• Tuscany oil : 1 Fiasco / Fiascho = 2.0893 liters (= 2 1/11 l)
• Tuscany wine: 1 Fiasco / Fiascho = 2.2792 liters (= 2 5/18 l)
• Argentina : 1 Frasco / bottle = 2.75 liters (= 2 3/8 l)
• Mexico : 1 Frasco / bottle = 2.8 liters (= 2 4/5 l)
• Paraguay : 1 Frasco / bottle = 2.44438 liters (= 2 4/9 l)
• Uruguay : 1 Frasco / bottle = 2.63469 liters (= 2 7/11 l)
