Flavio Zanonato

Flavio Zanonato (born July 24, 1950 in Padua ) is an Italian politician of the Partito Democratico .

Life

Zanonato became a member of the Italian Communist Party in the early 1970s . From 1975 he was a member of the city council of Padua and from 1993 to 1999 and from 2004 to 2013 mayor of the city. In addition, Zanonato was a member of the regional parliament of Veneto from 2000 to 2004 .

From April 28, 2013 to February 22, 2014 he was Minister of Economics in the Letta cabinet . In the European elections in 2014 , he was the European Parliament voted.

Zanonato's younger brother Pier Luigi is a professor of chemistry at the University of Padua .
