Flex Lewis
James "Flex" Lewis (born November 15, 1983 in Llanelli ) is a Welsh professional bodybuilder . He is a seven-time winner of the 212 Mr. Olympia .
Career
Lewis took an interest in bodybuilding at the age of 12 when he discovered a book about Tom Platz . It was Platz's legs that moved Lewis to go to a gym and start bodybuilding. Arnold Schwarzenegger was Lewis' greatest idol as a child. He first walked into a gym when he was 15. This was because he was playing rugby in high school and needed more strength and bulk to do so. In the gym he met the local bodybuilder Steve Naylor, who saw great potential in him. Naylor trained Lewis for a year. He then took part in his first bodybuilding competition, the Junior Mr. Wales, which he won straight away. During the competition, Lewis met IFBB pro Neil Hill, who convinced him of his training plan and diet. Four weeks later he won the Junior Mr. Britain.
In 2012 he won the 212 Mr. Olympia for the first time. For the next few years he dominated the 212 Mr. Olympia class. He won it a total of seven times from 2012 to 2018, which is a record in this class. He was also the first winner of the 212 Arnold Classic class in 2014.
