The Aviator Bravery Order ( Romanian Ordin Virtutea Aeronautica ) was founded on July 31, 1930 by King Carol II of Romania as the "Royal Romanian Order of Aeronautical Virtue" and awarded exclusively to members of the Romanian Air Force in three classes. During the Second World War , this was not done and the award was also given to members of the German Air Force .

The medal is a silver, gold-plated, light blue enameled cross with a dark green enameled laurel wreath under the cross arms . In the middle is a white enameled coat of arms with a golden eagle looking to the left . On the eagle there is a small coat of arms with the crowned and mirrored initial C (Carol) - from 1940 the initial MI ( Mihai I ). The year 1930 on the reverse in the center . The cross of the III. Class is made of silver.

The award with two crossed swords through the cross arms was awarded for military merit.

Carrying method

Commanders wore the award on a light purple-blue ribbon with a silver central and edge stripe around their necks, officers and knights on the ribbon on the left side of the chest.
