Flip Skateboards is a company that manufactures skateboards and related clothing and accessories.

Flip Skateboards was founded in Great Britain in 1991 as a merger of the two companies Death Box Skateboards and Bash Skateboards . In addition to Jeremy Fox and Ian Deacon, the British professional skateboarder Geoff Rowley was also involved . A little later, Tom Penny and Rune Glifberg also joined the team.

In 1994 the company moved to Huntington Beach in the US state of California to influence the professional scene there. Penny and Glifberg also took the opportunity to move to the United States, and established American scene professionals such as Ali Boulala and Bob Burnquist also joined the company .

The company's motto is HKD ( hate, kill, destroy ). The team's skateboard graphics, which regularly show motifs such as skulls or iron crosses , for example as an i- dot in the word Flip, are based on this saying . For every skater under contract with Flip Skateboards, the company also has a so-called pro deck which is illustrated with the name of the respective athlete.

Sponsorship

Flip Skateboards sponsors a diverse team of popular skateboarding professionals including Geoff Rowley , Luan Oliviera, David Gonzalez, Tom Penny , Arto Saari , Bob Burnquist and Rune Glifberg . So far, five professionals from the flip-skate team have been voted Skater of the Year ( SOTY ) by Thrasher magazine : Bob Burnquist (1997; although he was still sponsored by Anti-Hero at the time ), Geoff Rowley (2000), Arto Saari (2001 ), Mark Appleyard (2003) and David González (2012).
