Thrashers
Thrasher is an American skateboard magazine founded in 1981. As it is the oldest still existing skateboard magazine in the world, it has a high reputation in the skateboard scene. The headquarters of Thrasher Magazine has always been in San Francisco . The editor-in-chief was Jake Phelps until his death in 2019.
From January 2006 to January 2012 there was a bi-monthly edition in French for the French market , which partly documented the French / European scene and partly translated the content of the US edition.
Skater of the Year
The title "Skater of the Year" is awarded annually by Thrasher magazine. The award was launched in 1990 and is considered one of the most prestigious awards in global skateboarding culture. The title is awarded annually to a skater and announced by the editor of the skateboard magazine.
