Florence Fourcade

Florence Fourcade (born January 11, 1961 in Saint-Omer (Pas-de-Calais) ) is a French violinist of swing manouche .

Fourcade received classical music lessons from 1968 to 1979. After graduating, she worked as a violinist in the Nîmes Opera Orchestra , where she previously attended the Conservatory. She founded her jazz quartet Mademoiselle Swing and performed at major festivals with musicians such as Johnny Griffin , Marcel Azzola , Georges Arvanitas , Christian Escoudé , Babik Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli . Since 1992 she has released several albums under her own name; She can also be heard on recordings by Ricet Barrier, Chanson plus Bifluorée and Jean Duino. With the group Zaragraf she recorded the soundtrack for the film Cendrillon au Far West (2012). She has also been teaching at the Beaucaire Music School since 1989 .
