Florian Eichinger (born July 14, 1971 in Ludwigsburg , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German director , author and film producer .

Live and act

After five years of training and working as a television editor, he started his own business in 1998 and wrote, produced and staged short films and music videos. Eichinger has also worked as a director for television commercials since 2005. In 2008, Bergfest, his first full-length feature film, followed. Bergfest (German theatrical release: 7/2010) has been invited to around 20 national and international film festivals and has won several awards. Inspired by the audience discussions on the festival tour, Eichinger decided to write and direct two more feature films about the consequences of violence in the family. The second part of this trilogy, Nordstrand , was also successful at film festivals around the world (German cinema release: 1/2014). My mother's hands , the third film, was awarded the New German Cinema Award for best director and best actor at the Munich Film Festival in summer 2016 . In 2017, Eichinger was nominated for the German Director's Prize (Metropolis) in the category Best Director of Cinema.
