Eigler began his career in 2005 as an alpine skier , until 2008 he competed in FIS races , in which he predominantly finished behind. For the 2008/09 season he switched to freestyle skiing . After a few participations in the European Cup, he started the World Cup for the first time in March 2009 in Hasliberg . There he achieved 77th place in ski cross. Thanks to good results in the 2009/10 season in the European Cup, which he finished in fourth place in the ski cross classification, he has been participating in World Cup races regularly since 2010. In February 2011 in Blue Mountain he took eighth place in ski cross, his best place in the World Cup to date. He achieved this result again in December 2013 at the World Cup race in Val Thorens . In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he reached the final in ski cross, which he finished in eighth place.
