Florian Gruber (born January 26, 1983 in Vilsbiburg ) is a German racing driver .

Career

Gruber began his motorsport career in karting in 1994 , in which he was active until 1999. In 2000 he switched to touring car racing and competed in the German Volkswagen Lupo Cup . After finishing eighth in his debut season, he finished third in the championship in 2001. In the next season he drove the Bilstein touring car cup and took first place there. In the following season he competed in the German Touring Car Challenge (DTC) and won the championship title in the 2nd division.

In 2004 Gruber switched to the German SEAT Leon Supercopa . After finishing eighth in his first season and fourth in the overall standings in 2005, he won his first race in the series in 2006 and won the championship. In addition, as a reward for winning the SEAT European Masters 2005, he was given the opportunity to take part in a racing weekend in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in 2006 . In 2007 Gruber moved to the German Porsche Carrera Cup .
