Florian Janny (born December 29, 1994 in Gmunden ; † October 6, 2019 in Kitzbühel ) was an Austrian ice hockey goalkeeper who was most recently under contract with EC Kitzbühel in the Alps Hockey League .

life and career

Janny started his ice hockey career at EHC Linz . In the 2013/14 season he was a backup goalkeeper in the first division squad. In the 2016/17 season , he made his first appearance in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga . In the 2018/19 season he played for the fourth-class EHC Wattens . For the 2019/20 season he was accepted into the squad of EC Kitzbühel and played his first competitive game for the club on October 5, 2019, after which he was named "Man of the Match".

The next day, October 6th, Janny and four other people were shot in a jealousy murder in Kitzbühel.
