Florian Wilmsmann (born January 21, 1996 in Tegernsee ) is a German freestyle skier . He specializes in the discipline of ski cross .

biography

Florian Wilmsmann started skiing at the age of four. He came to this sport through his sister, who also did ski cross. In 2016 Wilmsmann became German champion and made his debut in the World Cup that same year. In Valmalenco a year later he became Junior World Champion. In his first race, the Tegernsee qualified eighth for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . There he finished 25th as he was eliminated on the first lap due to a driving error. On February 16, 2019, he achieved a World Cup podium for the first time with second place on the Feldberg . At the end of the season, Wilmsmann won his first German championship title in Grasgehren at the end of March .
