The Aeropuerto Rodríguez Ballón is the international airport of the Peruvian city of Arequipa .
It is located about six kilometers north of Arequipa.
It is currently served by Lan Peru , TACA , Avianca , JetSmart and Peruvian Airlines , which fly to Lima , Cuzco , Juliaca , Tacna , La Paz , Santiago de Chile and Bogotá .
Incidents
- On February 29, 1996, a Boeing 737-200 leased from American Airlines by Faucett Perú was flown into a mountain five minutes before landing at Arequipa Airport. All 117 passengers and 6 crew members on board died (see also Faucett-Perú flight 251 ) .
