The Catamayo Airport ( IATA : LOH ; ICAO : SECA ; span. : Aeropuerto Ciudad de Catamayo ) is the airport of the province of Loja in southern Ecuador . It is located as the crow flies about 18 km west of the provincial capital Loja near Catamayo.

Catamayo Airport was built during the reign of President Camilo Ponce Enríquez (1956–1960) and was originally named Camilo Ponce Enríquez .

The airport was completely renovated in 2012/2013. This included the reinforcement of the runway with a length of 1,860 m, the construction of a new control tower and a new terminal with an area of ​​2,800 m², which went into operation on May 13, 2013. At the same time the airport was named Ciudad de Catamayo ; even before that it had often been referred to as Catamayo Airport , despite the old name . The Ministry of Transport had previously called for a vote "A name for the airport of Catamayo". There were a total of 908 suggestions. Ciudad de Catamayo received 7,131 votes (50.54%).
