Werner Weinrich
Werner Weinrich (born June 12, 1938 in Worbis ) is a German trade unionist , SPD politician and former member of the Hamburg Parliament .
Life
Werner Weinrich attended elementary school from 1945 to 1953 and then did an apprenticeship as a carpenter. After receiving his journeyman's certificate in 1956 , he managed to flee to West Germany and went on a journey as a carpenter. In 1963 he got a job with the former IG Bau-Steine-Erden in Hamburg. The union sent him from 1964 to 1965 to study at the Dortmund Social Academy . In 1967 Weinrich was elected District Secretary in Hamburg.
After completing his career, in 2002 he took over the honorary chairmanship of the workers' welfare in the Hamburg-Harburg district.
politics
Werner Weinrich joined the SPD and exercised various functions there. From 1970 to 1978 he was a member of the Hamburg-Harburg district assembly , and from 1972 as chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.
In 1970 he was elected as a member of the Hamburg parliament. There he mainly worked in the building committee and in the committee for social affairs and youth .
