The Jessore Airport ( Bengali যশোর বিমানবন্দর , English Jessore Airport ) is a small domestic airport in the same city Jessore in western Bangladesh . The airport is operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh . The only destination airport is Dhaka Airport, 145 kilometers away . In 2011/12, 87,142 passengers and 2932 tons of cargo were handled in Jessore. This made the airport the fourth largest in Bangladesh in terms of handling, albeit a long way from the three international airports Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet .

As early as the Second World War, there was an airfield in Jessore in what was then British India , which was used by the 8th, 292nd and 615th squadrons of the Royal Air Force . The airport was badly damaged in the War of Independence in 1971 , but was quickly repaired afterwards. In 1982 the runway was extended and in 2007 it was given a new asphalt surface .

Airlines
