The international airport Juanda ( Indonesian Bandara Internasional Juanda , IATA : SUB , ICAO : WARR ) is the airport of the Indonesian metropolis Surabaya , the capital of the province Jawa Timur .
location
The airport is located near the city of Sidoarjo , 20 kilometers south of Surabaya, in East Java.
Airport facilities
To the north of the runway there is a new passenger building including a new taxiway and taxiways, freight terminal and apron. The new terminal building consists of two, two-story buildings with a pier in front with eleven piers and boarding bridges. For the time being, 15 aircraft can be parked on the apron. The new facilities, which went into operation in September 2006, make the airport one of the most modern in Indonesia.
Airside infrastructure
The airport has a runway three kilometers long and 60 meters wide in an east-west direction and a full-length taxiway running parallel to it. There are five taxiways to and from the slope. Aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 747 can be handled on the apron . There are 19 parking positions for aircraft up to the size of an Airbus A321 . Instead of these 19 short-haul aircraft and nine can widebody (widebody Engl.) Park.
Local transport
There are bus services to the Purabaya Terminal bus station in Surabaya.
Taxis from all taxi companies are allowed to drive passengers from Surabaya to the airport. However, only taxis from the Primkopal Juanda Taxis company are allowed to drive from the airport to the city. They travel to destinations across Surabaya for a single price.
