The Massawa International Airport is an international airport in Massawa ( Eritrea ), the main port city in the region Northern Red Sea Region .

Commercial flights at this airport began in the fall of 2010 when the Nasair airline started offering flights to Jeddah , Dubai , Doha , Chartum and Nairobi .

The airport has a single concrete runway . It received flights from local dignitaries and foreign leaders, including the President of Yemen .
