Alexander Ukrow (born December 7, 1970 in East Berlin ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach.
Career
As a player
Ukrow, who comes from East Berlin, learned to play football at FC Viktoria in Frankfurt . He also went through the youth national teams of the GDR between the U-15 and the U-19. After the reunification , the defender went to Lower Saxony in 1991 and joined Kickers Emden , from where he went to SV Meppen after five years in 1996 . Two years later he joined SV Wilhelmshaven . His last professional station was VfL Osnabrück , for whom he played from 2000 to 2004 and was captain of the promotion team in 2003. After the relegation season 2003/04 , in which he had come only 8 times, Ukrow had to end his active career as a player due to injury.
As a trainer
From 2010 to 2011 Alexander Ukrow was the coach of the U17 team at VfL Osnabrück, and for the 2011/12 season he was promoted to assistant coach of the first team. He performed this task both under Uwe Fuchs (May 31, 2011 - December 8, 2011) and Claus-Dieter Wollitz (January 1, 2012 - May 11, 2013). After his resignation, he was provisionally appointed interim coach for Lower Saxony and competed in the 2012/13 relegation against Dynamo Dresden from the 2nd division. There he failed, however, as the first leg was won 1-0, but they had to admit defeat in the second leg after a 2-0 defeat. Since July 1, 2014, he has been the head of the VfL Osnabrück youth training center. In the 2014/15 season Alexander Ukrow supervised in the Oberliga Niedersachsen playing U-21 team of VfL Osnabrück. In the 2015/16 season he was again assistant coach of the VfL first team under Joe Enochs . From 2016 to 2017 Ukrow took part in the Hennes-Weisweiler Academy's football instructor course.
Private
Ukrow has completed an apprenticeship as a banker, a degree as a sports manager and a teaching degree.
