The airfield Pembrey is a Welsh airfield near the village of Pembrey , Carmarthenshire .
history
Construction of the Prembrey airfield began in 1937. From 1939 the airfield was used by the Royal Air Force as a flight school, among other things. In 1957 RAF Pembrey was closed and the airfield was then mainly used for civilian purposes. In 2000, the newly founded Welsh airline Air Wales set up its aeronautical headquarters at the airport and served various routes from here with Dornier 228 aircraft . However, the base was relocated to Swansea Airport back in 2001 . Isles of Scilly Skybus is currently using the airfield for charter flights.
