Air Wales was a British airline based in the Welsh Rhoose .

history

The airline was founded in January 1997 and started operations from Pembrey Airport in January 2000 . The fleet initially consisted of Dornier 228 aircraft . In October 2001, the headquarters moved to Swansea Airport .

However, at the end of October 2004 the base in Swansea was given up and the headquarters relocated to Cardiff. The reason given was that the route network from Swansea was unprofitable and had been subsidized for a long time. On April 23, 2006, the unprofitable scheduled flight operations were finally stopped. Air Wales then wanted to concentrate on the cargo and charter flight business, but was unsuccessful.

Destinations

The line network consisted of various routes, mostly from Cardiff. The destinations included Cardiff, Paris, Brussels, Cork, Waterford, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Manchester, Exeter, Newquay, Jersey, Plymouth and Rennes.
